Through Region 3 Water Technical Assistance, the University of Maryland Environment Finance Center provides support to the City of Crisfield for infrastructure projects that make our city more resilient.

Resilience Action Planning

University of Maryland (UM) Environmental Finance Center (EFC) Resilience Action Planning for Maryland’s Coastal Communities is a non-financial planning grant to the City of Crisfield, funded to UM EFC by the National Coastal Resilience Fund through the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA) and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF). This project will emphasize helping communities understand their vulnerabilities and incorporate climate considerations into decisions, plans, etc. The City of Crisfield will pursue a Climate and Flooding Mitigation Module for adoption to the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Representatives from the City and a non-profit organization are required to participate in this project. Designated representatives for the City are Councilman Eric Banks and Climate Resilience Consultant Jen Merritt. Representatives on behalf of the Greater Crisfield Action Coalition are Donnie Drewer and Steve Flaherty.
